Graduated from Management (Concentration in Finance).
In high school, Anis learned computer systems networking and telecommunications. This ignited his passion in the field of technology where the idea of becoming a “tecnopreneur” firs began. During his studying period at Sampoerna University, Anis was chosen as one of the top five best participants in the BMW X1 National Marketing Competition (IMOTION UI) – 2012, and in 2014, he became a finalist at an event organized by Microsoft’s Office 365 Apprenticeship.
Anis’ passion in branding and marketing through E-Commerce, IT, telecommunications, and the Mobile Industry, catapulted him to become Indonesia’s Country Marketing Manager for INFINIX Mobility, a mobile technology brand well known in Europe, Africa and The Middle East.
Anis continued to advance his studies and achievements and enrolled in an MBA degree program while working full-time. He hopes to someday build his own IT company.
After graduating from Management in 2015, Lukman also took the Lone Star College route majoring in Business Administration and Management. As a top graduate of the class of (2015), Lukman won several awards during his study such as the Scholar's Award 2012, the Dean’s Commendation List 2012, the Top 5 BMW X1 Marketing Plan Competition at IMOTION from Universitas Indonesia (2012) and the 1st Winner of The National Business Innovation Competition (Binova) at UBAYA (Universitas Surabaya) in 2013.
Lukman initiated his own incubated project in 2013. It was one of the most innovative business incubations headquartered at Sampoerna University in Jakarta, Indonesia. This business incubation program has helped establishes startups built by students at Sampoerna University. This program also conducts events, such as CEO Talks, Startup Stories, and Company Visits.
Yosea joined Sampoerna University in 2009 based on their shared belief in the power of positive thinking, collaboration and beauty in diversity. He tries to approach and analyze problems and ideas from various perspectives prior to making decisions. He developed his leadership skill during his study at the Faculty of Education, where his leadership achievements were acknowledged at the local, national, and even international level. He received many awards acknowledging his leadership skills. This included the World Scout Foundation (2012), Mc Kinsey& Company Indonesia (2012), Nutrifood (2012), Koperasi Siswa Bangsa (2012), and Sampoerna University (2013)
Applying leadership concepts and skills he acquired at the University, he founded Youth Educators Sharing Network (Youth ESN), a non-profit youth-led community that believes that teachers are not the only educators of students, they are just another important contributors to a much larger effort undertaken by entire communities of learners. The youth movement hold conferences, trainings, workshops, and other learning platforms to empower youth national education.
Upon his graduation in 2013, Yosea joined Nutrifood Indonesia, one of the biggest FMCG company in Indonesia. His responsibilities span from employee relations to Internal communications. In his role at the company, he actively nurtures his leadership skill. Moreover, he recently represented Indonesia at the 20th Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). He had the opportunity to explore six cities in three countries, they were: Beijing, Harbin (China), Vladivostok, Irkutks, Chita (Russian Federation), and Ulanbataar (Mongolia). The visits took place over a period of three weeks, from August 14th to Sept 5th in 2016.
Prior to joining Sampoerna University in 2009, Razka and partners started a business by making dry denim. They believed that dry denim still has a huge untapped market, yet the price of imported dry denim was too expensive. As a company, they decided to produce quality denim at a relatively low cost and offered it at a lower price.
During his study at the Faculty of Business, Razka established a denim fashion business branded as “ESRE Denim.” He won Sampoerna University’s Entrepreneurial Award in 2013. Upon graduation, he continued to pursue an MBA at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. During his study in the U.K., he was able to apply his business knowledge and experience in the country’s largest fashion trade exhibition, 'Pure London“ in 2017.
Razka managed to convince a group of investors to support his vision to help him develop his brand. His dream is to push ESRE denim to become the world's leading denim brand and capitalize his opportunities internationally. He has recruited a few of his friends to join his company to support his vision. Today, ESRE Denim is listed as one of the "5 Indonesian Denim Brands You Should Know" on the leading denim website, Heddels.com.
When he joined Sampoerna University, he participated in AFS-Japan exchange, where he was selected as a prospect out of 36 exchange participants from a pool of 1200 applicants. He was able to submerge himself in an intercultural learning experience as an exchange student in Yokosuka, Japan in 2010.
David earned several awards while studying at Sampoerna University. Some of these awards included Sampoerna School of Business Scholar’s Award in 2012, Sampoerna School of Business Dean’s Commendation List in 2011, Grand Finalist of CFA Indonesia Investment Research Challenge 2012, and from CFA Institute, IDX, KSEI and BAPEPAM-LK in 2011. His leadership skills were also acknowledged by a leading business consulting company, McKinsey & Company Indonesia, where David was recognized as part of “Young Leaders for Indonesia (YLI)” in 2014.
His leadership skills first became evident when he was elected President of the Student Council in January 2012-February 2013. David led the Student Council programs from its infancy stage until it became a fully development council. During his tenure, various important University programs were started. These programs included the Varsity Sports Olympics, and the Entrepreneurship & Business related workshops were prominent public guest speakers participated.
Additionally, David was the first Graduate Trainee of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. after graduating from Sampoerna University. He is part of the first generations of graduates, marking the pathway for future graduates to follow suit and join their professional lives.
Hard work, sacrifice, and high motivation have been the key to success for Shanaz Fairuz Balqis, a from Bondowoso, Indonesia, who is currently studying in France.
Shanaz was born in a modest family where her father worked as a prison officer and her mother as a teacher. Shanaz’s father would sometimes take her to work with him as a child to let Shanaz witness how prisoners lived and to learn about the negative consequences of people's’ actions.
When Shanaz graduated from Sampoerna Academy, she continued her educational journey at Sampoerna University, previously known as Sampoerna School of Business, where she earned a double degree in business management in 2013.
“I believe that by having joined the management program, I was able to develop a better bargaining position to face the real world. Who knows, perhaps my wish to join the World Bank will come true someday.”
After spending the first two years at Sampoerna University, she then continued her third year at Institut d'Économie Scientifique et de Gestion (IESEG) School of Management in Lille, France, where she enrolled as a finance major.
By taking primarily evening classes, she was able to join Indonesia Link (I-Link), an association that helps French students interested in visiting Indonesia for pleasure or to study. Shanaz also served as a committee member in the Euro Olympic 2016, a sports competition event for European students.
Shanaz completed an internships in Indonesia and one in France during her studies. She believes these internships undoubtedly prepared her for the workforce. She now works full-time for the consulting company, Palladium, as a Junior Business Analyst. Shanaz was accepted to this worldwide company a month prior to her graduation from IESEG, in September 2017.
Jane recently graduated from Sampoerna University’s Faculty of Business with a degree in Accounting.

Jane says she was given a great opportunity to understand and develop important skill through Sampoerna’s internship programs, HM Sampoerna, for two consecutive periods, in 2015, and again in 2016. She is now fully employed as an auditor at PWC before Sampoerna’s graduation ceremony in September 2017. This goes to shows that she has gained the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience during studies at the university which made her work and world ready.
